APPROACHING FROM A720 & EDINBURGH AIRPORT (Edinburgh City Bypass), continue (East / South) to the final exit (Old Craighall Services). Drive past the services to the roundabout and follow the signs for Musselburgh. Continue down this road until you reach the traffic lights at the 'T' junction. Turn right and continue along the side of the river keep left at the Tesco Superstore roundabout continue to the second set of traffic lights. At the lights you will see the Caprice restaurant on your right. (Follow signs for Inveresk Lodge Gardens). Turn right up the side road (Dalrimple loan) and continue up this road following the bend to the left. Newbigging is the first turn on the right (1/4 mile after bend). Eildon is a red sandstone house 100 yards on the right. APPROACHING FROM THE A1 (South, Musselburgh exit), follow the signs for Musselburgh. On entering the town outskirts you will arrive at two roundabouts. The first is signposted 'Musselburgh', at the second, turn left following Pinkie Road (and signs for Inveresk) for about 1 mile; turn left after the Yellow & Blue garage (at the Horseshoe Pub). Eildon is a red sandstone house 100 yards on the right. FROM THE A68  Join the Edinburgh City Bypass A720 driving East towards Berwick upon Tweed. Continue to the end of the A720. Take the exit at Old Craighall. Do not join the A1. There are Petrol services on the left. Continue past the services to the roundabout. Take the second left signpost Musselburgh. Continue down this road until you reach the traffic lights at the ‘T’ junction. Turn right and continue along the side of the river keeping left at the Tesco roundabout, continue to the second set of traffic lights. At the lights, there is a Church on the right. Turn right at the filter onto Dalrymple Loan. The road bends to the left. Newbigging is the first turn on the right (1/4 KM after the bend). Eildon is a red sandstone house 100 meters on the right. BY BUS From St Andrew Square or the North side of Princes Street in Edinburgh City centre. The fare is 1.30 GBP per journey. The exact fare is required as the bus drivers do not have access to change. Buses nos 26 and 44 will all bring you to lower Newbigging. The bus will then turn into Pinkie Road. Get off here opposite the Garage. Cross the road and turning right. Walk to Horseshoe Pub. Turn left into the upper part of Newbigging. Eildon is a red stone house 100 yards on the opposite side of the road. Please check with the bus driver that the bus goes direct to Musselburgh as some buses are only part-route.
The number 30 and 30N buses run from Queen Margaret University Campus to Eildon B&B and from Musselburgh train station. We do not advise the number 30 for guests arriving from Edinburgh City centre. (extended journey)
BY TRAIN / BUS From Edinburgh Waverly train station, take a train to Musselburgh (please note that this is a limited service) then take a number 30 Bus to the last stop (Musselburgh Grammar School). Walk straight ahead, follow the pavement to left. Eildon B&B is the first house that you come to. Alternatively, a walk from the train station takes about 25 minutes. We do recommend taking a bus from Edinburgh. It is faster and more convenient.
BY TAXI From Edinburgh City centre a taxi should cost about 16 GBP and work out fairly reasonably between 4 persons sharing. Most have GPS and our postcode is EH21 7AS. From Edinburgh Airport the Taxi fare is about 42 GBP. We advise that you have our postcode / ZIP for the driver. They will not wait.
Taxi from Eildon B&B to the Airport is 26 GBP if pre-booked (ask Eve). There is also an Air link bus from the Airport to Edinburgh City centre which costs about 3.50 GBP single and 6 GBP return per person. Click on the map of Scotland for more detailed directions.
